The future of the goat industry is entrusted to our youth.  To show our appreciation to the young people who are getting involved in the goat industry, we would like to spotlight selected youth.  If you are a parent or guardian of children with goats and would like to nominate them for this feature, please click on the link below.

4-H & Youth Programs
There are several youth programs in Alberta for young goat enthusiasts. Participants learn how to care for goats, select and prepare goats for shows, and showmanship. They also attend shows with their goats, such as the Westerner Goat Show in Red Deer in July, the Olds Fair and Rodeo Goat Show in Olds, Alberta in August and Goat Gala at Farm Fair International in Edmonton in November.

AGA Youth Goat Project Book

AGA Youth Agricultural Organization Support

 

 

Any youth Agricultural Organization that has members belonging to AGA will


be eligible to apply to AGA for support

 

1. a Club can apply 1 time per calendar year

2. Total support is $100.00 per club

3. This money must fund some kind of Goat learning activity or function

4. Application is made by letter to AGA outlining the activity to be undertaken

5. Report on the activity must be submitted to AGA to be included and published in SLANT portion of Goat Rancher.
